Privacy and cookies
This site shows the villa and takes bookings. It stores as little as possible: no cookies for visitors, no analytics, no advertising.
Who is responsible for your data
Meridies, Rue du Bois d'Huberbu 92, 7100 Trivières, Belgique, who lets the villa Keur Bary Wah. Contact: contact@keurbarywah.com.
When you visit the site
No cookie is set and nothing follows your visit from one page to the next.
Like any web server, the site’s server writes the IP address, the date, the page requested and the type of browser in a technical log. The log is used to protect the site and to fix faults: this is the publisher’s legitimate interest. It is deleted after 30 days at most.
The availability calendar is the same for everybody: looking at it stores nothing about you.
When you send a request by WhatsApp or email
The site prepares a message with what you entered (name, dates, number of guests, message) and opens it in WhatsApp or in your email app. You are the one who sends it: the site’s server neither receives nor keeps it.
Kathy uses it to reply to you. WhatsApp (Meta) and your email provider handle the message under their own rules.
How long the data is kept
- Confirmation emails kept by the site so that they can be sent again: 30 days.
- WhatsApp and email conversations: for as long as it takes to reply and, if you stay at the villa, for 3 years after the stay.
Who receives your data
- Kathy and the team who welcome you at the villa, in Senegal: your name, your dates, the number of guests and your phone number, to prepare your arrival. This transfer outside the European Union is necessary for your stay.
- The website host and, for confirmations, the email service: they only act on instruction.
Nothing about you is passed to Airbnb: the site only closes the booked dates there, without a name. Your data is neither sold nor used for advertising, and no decision about you is taken by automated processing.
Cookies and storage in your browser
The site sets no cookies for its visitors and loads nothing from another site: the fonts, the photos, the videos and the map all come from the site itself. So there is no banner and no choice to make.
While you prepare a booking, your browser keeps the dates and contact details you entered in the open tab, so that you lose nothing when you change language or reload the page. This information stays in your browser, is not sent to the site, and is erased after two hours or when you close the tab. The "Clear everything" button erases it straight away.
The links to Airbnb, WhatsApp, Google Maps (for directions), OpenStreetMap and the websites of the places to visit open those sites, which have their own rules. Nothing is sent to them until you click.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its use, to object to it or to receive it in a reusable format. Write to contact@keurbarywah.com: you will get an answer within a month.
If the answer does not satisfy you, you can turn to the data protection authority of your country: the ICO in the United Kingdom, the CNIL in France, the Data Protection Authority in Belgium.
Security
The pages of the site travel over an encrypted connection (https). Bookings are stored on the site’s server, in a file that cannot be reached from the internet.
